This manual is designed as a seven-module training guide for group therapy in substance use disorder treatment. The modules assist counselors and other clinical staff in understanding and implementing evidence-based practices as described in TIP 41. This video features inspiring stories from three people who survived an attempted suicide. These individuals and their families personally recount their journeys from the suicide attempt to a life of hope and recovery. A video guide is included.

Case scenarios demonstrate counseling techniques and a four-step process for addressing suicide. This resource was developed with Department of Veterans Affairs with support from SAMHSA.
