This document provides state by state information on implementation of intensive care coordination using a wraparound approach for children and youth with complex mental and substance use disorders. 

This Guidance document gives a “bird’s eye view” of strategies to support best practice prescribing of antipsychotics for youth and summarizes the available evidence and principles to support these strategies. 

This report presents 2016 national estimates of use of alcohol, tobacco products, illicit drugs (such as, marijuana, cocaine, heroin, hallucinogens, and inhalants, as well as the misuse of opioids, prescription pain relievers, tranquilizers, stimulants, and sedatives), substance use disorders, and substance use treatment among people 12 years of age and older. It Includes national estimates of any mental illness, serious mental illness, major depressive episode, use of mental health services and suicidal ideation among adults ages 18 or older and national estimates of major depressive episode, use of mental health services among adolescents aged 12 to 17. Trend information on these topics are also presented.

This video offers guidance to substance use disorder treatment counselors working with people experiencing suicidal behaviors. It covers risk factors, warning signs, and follow-up care. Case scenarios demonstrate counseling techniques and a four-step process for addressing suicide. This resource was developed with Department of Veterans Affairs with support from SAMHSA.
