As a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor, I make sure each of my supervisees has a copy of this manual. It is an excellent resource. Good CBT information for psycho-education of clients. Uses techniques similar to other trauma-focused treatment. A must have for anyone dealing with children who have a history of trauma!

I work with adolescents from group homes, many of whom landed in foster care, then ended up in group homes, as a result of traumatic losses sustained when they were children. This book gives a very cogent and readable treatment for this population. [Portions of this comment containing customer service inquiries have been redacted. I think this is an important population that needs to be cherished. Kids shouldn't have to fear of what they think or what is going on around them and unfortunately that is most of what how our world is happening. I feel we need more books out there to help us coach/counsel those who need help. Whether it be books, CD's, DVD's, or even testimonials by both families/children with their issues.
